Nationally, 1 in every 50 youth will become homeless by the time they turn 18 years-old. And over
25% of former foster children become homeless within two to four years of leaving the system.
However, very little data has been available to measure homelessness in Johnson County, Indiana
KIC-IT aims to to raise community awareness in order to help ensure that appropriate
services are identified and implemented to assist people experiencing homelessness without the
need to relocate themselves and their families out of county due to the lack of supportive resources
available in their own community.
The charts below illustrate the magnitude of the issue, as it
affects Franklin and the county as a whole.
